Posted by emjoven on 2009/7/7 10:49:44 (126 reads)

The government is looking for ways to equip the local auto parts and components makers to compete against imports when tariffs go down to zero under open market agreements with various trading blocks.

Posted by emjoven on 2009/4/9 22:44:00 (2113 reads)

President Arroyo much crowed about P330 billion economic stimulus package will have limited impact on shielding the economy from the economic slowdown as tax collection deteriorates, the World Bank (WB) said yesterday.

A rapidly deteriorating tax effort is a key concern to undertaking a credible and controlled fiscal easing in 2009,” the WB said in its assessment of the country as part of the East Asia and Pacific Half-Yearly Update.
